PhD in Pharmacology & Physiology Information Session

Monday, November 25, 2024 at 5:00 PM until 6:00 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

Georgetown University's Department of Pharmacology & Physiology offers a comprehensive and rigorous PhD program that is inherently interdisciplinary and builds on the strengths of physiology, biochemistry, cell biology, neuroscience, and molecular biology. Our faculty and students, using drugs and chemicals as tools, probe the molecular machinery of living systems in order to understand how cellular and organ systems function and how they are regulated.

Mentorship is a key component to our PhD program in Pharmacology & Physiology. Our students are mentored by world-renowned Georgetown University faculty, who are experts in the field. Through the program and their mentors, students will learn to use molecular, biochemical, and physiological approaches to pharmacology, which are conducted in cultured cells, isolated organs, intact animals, and humans. Our faculty have a broad spectrum of research areas, but the most concentrated research area is in neuropharmacology and signal transduction.
